Chazz's
new CD Recovery is without a doubt some of his finest song
writing in well over 20 years. His decision to write, sing and record
again shows that is never too late to create, as long as the passion
still burns, and the fire is red hot with Recovery. He started writing
Recovery in October 2006, and it is NOW AVAILABLE..
The album features 12 new songs with strong band tracks and blatantly
honest lyrics. His inspiration is drawn from the period of his life
when a tragic spinal cord injury cut short his career in music,
but then offered new, and in some ways, far more fulfilling avenues
for happiness.
Although a considerable amount of time has passed since that eventful
day, and he has continued to write music since then, he always avoided
singing and writing about those days. Days when the possibility
of an unhappy ending were all too real.
The songs are uplifting and inspirational, and although some depict
the struggle and perseverance it takes to climb up and out of a
dark place, it also delivers the hope and peace that's offered by
the mere act of continually pushing forward and never giving up.
The CD features many artists that Chazz had performed with in his
past, as well as new musicians and singers to enhance and complete
this project. The tunes are reminiscent of the 70's with solid band
tracks and lots of vocal harmonies.
ABOUT THE RECORDING OF THE CD
All of
the music tracks were recorded at Sunset Boulevard Studio on 40 tracks of
digital recording using (2) Roland VS-2000cd's linked together.
My primary keyboards are a Korg Triton and TR Rack. Ninety percent
of the tracks were performed with those keyboards and acoustic samples.
With the exception of (2) songs, all the drums are by DOD and edited
and arranged by Chazz.
All of the vocals, real drums, some
bass and real acoustic guitars were recorded at Paradyme Productions
in Madison Wisconsin.
The CD was produced by Chazz deMeyer,
Jim Schwall and Jake Johnson (engineer-owner of Paradyme). The CD
was mixed and mastered there as well. . . . 2nd Engineer: Billy
